We also take our candy seriously...seriously enough that we've had to establish some ground rules after a big night of trick-or-treating. Namely: Andrea has dibs on Snickers and Whoppers. Julia has dibs on Butterfingers. Carolyn has dibs on Mounds. And then Julia and Carolyn engage in an all-out Kung-Fu Smack-down for the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. (This is a ticketed event. Please call the Barnyard Box Office for more info.)
So here's our question for you: Which candy do you call first dibs on at your house?

What will you win? A book, of course! But not just any book. You will win your very own autographed copy of Carolyn's latest monsterpiece, Where's My Mummy? And who knows, maybe we'll throw in some treats as well! Or are we tricking you? You'll never know unless you play!

Ooh! I'm first! I call dibs on candy corn.
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups rule, but the strawberry starbusts are also pretty good.
I'd have to say I'm with the majority on the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. I'm not a huge chocolate fan, but those things are out of this world.
Definately, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups!!! Banana Laffy Taffy's in the non chocolate category--yummy, yummy!
Put me down for HERSHEY'S.
Mmm-mmm good!
I call dibs on Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, too! Next on the list would be Snickers.
Hershey bars...I go for the chocolate "straight up!"
Reeses rule! I'll also go to the mat for Snickers. If you're looking for a kid's point of view...mine arm wrestle over Milky Ways and Hershey bars. We're all about the CHOCOLATE!!
Baby Ruth, baby!
Sorry if this is a repeat but I can't see to post this little note.
Must be a gli-witch in the program this morning. ;>
So.. I'll be blunt.
Give me Tootsie Rolls or give me...uh... uh... uh... Tootsie Rolls.

I am a Tootsie Roll girl-Love em, Love em, Love em!!
Reese's Peanut Butter cups are my favorite! But I rarely pass up a Snickers bar...
All this talk of candy is making me HUNGRY! The candy that is in my house year round is Starbursts, but if I'm craving chocolate I grab a Milky Way.
Chocolate works for me!! P.S. Julia...Angie has given my girls some of your books as gifts and we love them! I am both a mommy and a parent educator, so I have both a great collection and a love of children's books. Thanks for all you ladies do!!
Julia-
GIVE UP THOSE SNICKERS, girl!
I'm.not.kidding.

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are the BEST,they never last more than a day or 2 in my house! (I've actually been known to hide a few to keep for myself:)
It's got to be peanut butter logs! I can't remember if I like them that much or over the years nobody claimed them!
Kit Kat's are for me. If left of my own devices, I could eat a whole bag of Fun Size without blinking an eye.
There comes a point when eating Halloween candy turns to blood sport, and I think you have achieved that when you go Kung- fu fighting on somebody for Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Save a ring side seat for me, I want to see that celebrity death match. It would be a great school fundraiser.
Who needs a PTO carnival! ;-)
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, of course! For that reason, I NEVER buy them by the bag...too much temptation. Like Oreo's. ;-)

Well, umm, it would have to be, let's see, maybe, ok, I have first dibs on EVERYTHING. It is my honor and privilege to be the "first dibser" of anything that comes into my house. I take this job quite seriously. I may or may not share. It depends on my mood. Sometimes it is not such a glamorous job. Like when I have to be "first dibser" with the liver and onions I just cooked. Or with those little green things in the shape of a small cabbage. But Halloween makes up for that quite nicely!!! Yeah, mom's rule!!
SNICKERS - no question.
Dove bars. Yes, lucky me, a neighbor doles them out.
Forget dibs: I used to unapologetically STEAL all the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups out of my two sons' Halloween hoards. But then nut allergies made an appearance in our household; and confiscating Reese's Cups is just not as much fun as purloining them. (I eat them primarily out of a sense of duty.) So now I'm all about the Junior Mints. Dibs especially on those junior-sized boxes -- perfect packaging for the (second) finest candy in existence!
Well, my grandma's PB cups were the very best. And my grandpa and I always shared Kit Kats. And my mom has the cutest seasonal M&M dispenser. And I tell myself it's OK to eat as many York Peppermint Patties as I want, since they are lower in fat. Yeah. I'll snatch just about anything chocolate with no coconut or raisins involved.
And then the picture on the post reminded me of Twizzlers. Hardened red High Fructose Corn Syrup. What is not to love? (Seriously. Like why is it so good?)
Mr. Goodbar, Kit Kat, Whatchamacallit, peanut M&M's, and almond rocca. That's all, really... well, maybe some Oreo's if I'm lucky. But that's it. Well maybe a Snickers. But that's it! Must stop typing...
I love this book! Oh, and I call 3Musketeers!
Obviously we have a trend! For me it is definitely the Reese's Peanut Butter cups. Next on the list is Baby Ruths.
Butterfingers! Where's My Mummy? rocks!
I also want the Whoppers.
My wife gets the Peanut Butter Cups. I want the Milky Ways and York Peppermint Patties.
("bosupe" - most pronounceable word verification I've seen in ages....)
My wife says ANY leftover candy is worth fighting for. Last year she just got in a lucky punch...
Sometimes you feel like a nut...Almond Joys
Make that Snickers bars for me! I hope I'm not too late for the drawing.
Anonymous,
You're not too late, but if you win, how will we know who you are?
The Chicks!
